Here we
are at the start of the New Year. As you
have already seen, there have been some changes. Alicia Cole is teaching the K-1 group and Becky Ramsey is with
the second graders. Karen Bender, Star
Mullins and Marilyn Heistand continue with the 3rd, 4th
and 5th grade pod. Don
Lawrence and Mary Quijano are the teachers for the middle schools with the help
of Lisa Barnard and Tamara Morrison. Kalima Cayir and Tricia Solimeo are
helping Tammy with recess, lunch and general overseeing the campus.
Last but not least, Don
Hughes has agreed to serve as our part-time Educational Director until the
permanent one arrives and Ted Pirsig is our business manager.
Movement
class: Tanta Rosa wants to remind all students in
K-5 to bring sneakers for the movement class.
Also, girls: no skirts. Thank
you
School snacks:
Sodas and candy at school are strongly discouraged -- they do affect
student behavior and consequent academic performance. As an
alternative, fruit,
fruit juice and granola bars are recommended. Also, this year the
students will be able to make microwave popcorn only on Fridays, and
not use
the office, just the multipurpose room. If they wish to bring it as a
snack on
other days they can pop it at home first.
INITIAL
PAPERWORK: All those parents who haven’t turned in this
paperwork, please do so ASAP. We
especially need the emergency cards, applications for free and reduced lunches,
and the field trip permission forms.
Thanks a bunch. Peggy
