Circus  Minimus:  Mahalo to Kevin and Erin O’Keefe of Circus Minimus, who treated our students in Grades 2-8 to workshops in Circus Skills yesterday.  The O’Keefe’s will present a workshop in Circus Yoga for Kids and families on Sat. Feb 5th from 1-5 pm.  Cost: $15 students, $25 adults.  Call 967-8222 to register.  On Sunday, Feb. 6th you can see Kevin O’Keefe present his One-Man Circus in a Suitcase performance at KMC Theatre.  Adults $8, Children, $6.  Please support the artists who lend their creative talents to our students.

Progress is made through the miracle of giving! A huge mahalo to all who gave in the name of the Volcano School Founders this year.  A whopping $1220 was raised for 4th annual Founder Day.  What a lovely birthday present for the school and the children!  Thank you!

Tsunami Relief Sale: Maps to Garage Sale can be picked up at the office. Items you would like to put in this 5th grade sale may be brought to the school before Friday or delivered directly to Mrs. Hiestand’s house.  Drive down Jade Ave. in Mauna Loa Estates and at the last left turn (Ala Ohia) turn left.  Drive on Ala Ohia to the last house on the right.

Board Meeting this Thursday The VSAS board will meet Thursday in Mr. Lawrence’s tent from 6 to 8 p.m.  Of special interest on the agenda this week are an in-depth look at the music program and reports on long and short-term facilities planning.  All welcome. 

Family Jam: Join us for a down-home evening of making music together.  Bring your child/children and instruments for everyone.  The first gathering is this Friday night, 6 to 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room.  This is simple music, played by ear, suitable for all. There will be a few extra rhythm instruments available.  Info: call Dina, 967-8151; an adult must accompany child/children. 

Recycling:  VSAS is recycling aluminum cans and plastic bottles.  Please kokua by placing only revenue earning uncrushed cans and plastic bottles in the designated container in the multipurpose building.  (We’ll keep a monthly running tally of cash earned for the school.)  Mahalo, Nao Wenkam.
