Dear Parents: Aloha. We have been invited to be part of the Second Annual Ho’ike Mau a Mau, a performing arts festival, which is a partnership effort by Kamehameha Schools and the Ka’u/Kea’au/Pahoa area DOE Schools.  Five Charter Schools located in the Puna and Ka’u districts have been included.
Please mark your calendars for this exciting event!  It is to take place Saturday, April 30th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.  The elementary school’s grade three, four, and five under the direction of Karen Bender and Kalima Cayir will be participating.  It will take place at the Kurtistown Kamehameha High School Campus.  The children have already begun rehearsing for this event.  It will be our biggest performance to date.  The children and myself are excited to be part of this community-building event.  There will be more details to come regarding exact times and bus transportation from Naalehu may be available.  Thank you, Ms. Bender.

Mahalo: To the 50  State Key Club students who came last Saturday and planted plants, built a berm, weeded and cut out more ginger.  Thanks to Julie Williams for organizing this and thanks to the volunteers who helped.  And a special thanks to Ron Rigo for the loads of cinder, and Jeff Halford for his leadership.  Couldn’t do it without all of you.

Inserts: Receipts for bills, 5th grade homework.
