The Annual Art Auction will be May 1, 2005  11.00 am to 2 pm at Cooper Center.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
Advance tickets may be purchased at the school and both Volcano stores.
 
The fund development committee is still accepting art donations, and we need volunteers to help the day of the event. For
more information, contact Kathy Brooks at 989-6826.

Visioning
Parents are encouraged to join us for an evening of information and visioning for the 2005-2006 school year. Dr. Rizor will present an overview of plans for next year’s facilities and classes and will answer
question that you may have.
*Middle School:* April 25 (Monday) 6 to 7 p.m.
*Elementary School:* April 27 (Wednesday) 6 to 7p.m.
Come early -- beginning at *5:30 p.m.* each evening, a free light supper will be provided. Please join us.

“Movies From Home” for our soldiers in Iraq.  If you have old DVD Movies, they can be donated for the Movies From Home Program.  The DVDs will be sent to Iraq for our troops to have a little break from the war.
 
Part 2: Movies From Home.  Old music CDs can be donated to the Movies from Home program and will be exchanged for DVD movies that will be sent to Iraq.  Please give your DVDs or CDs to Dr. Rizor, Miss Tammy or a Student Council Member.

Board Meeting this Thursday
The board will meet on Thursday in Mr. Lawrence's tent at 5:30 p.m..  Among the discussion topics will be the latest update on our new lease and information on our recently drafted teacher contract, along with the current thinking on facilities for next year and an updated tally of projected enrollment figures.  All welcome.
As a reminder, parents who wish to bring a matter before the board may contact a parent representative (Lisa Adams, Jenny Krauss, Jeff Halford, Vanessa Livingston, Kathy Brooks or Dina Kageler) to request a slot on the agenda.   Also, our Education Director Dr. Rizor is available for discussions and is another avenue through which matters can be brought to the board's attention.

The Ka’u Spring Fest is scheduled for May 21 at Ka’u High School in Pahala.  The singers and bands are eager to jam with the new state of the art sound system.  Venders and folks interested in setting up a booth or event are asked to contact the high school at 928-2088.  No fees or percentages, strictly donation.  Music, food, fun and good people celebrating life!
 
785 CANS & PLASTIC BOTTLES…$44.25 FOR MARCH!  Thanks to all, the cumulative totals for year 2005 are: 2129 items yielding $119.95. (Note: Atlas Recycling pays an additional scrap value for cans – approximately $13.50 so far).  Thank you to all for removing bottle caps, (and no glass bottles please).
