IMPORTANT:  Please pay your bus and lunch bills!!!!!!!!!  Thank you, Peggy.

The Grand Finale!  Cooper Center, decorated with blue-black-white streamers and balloons, was the scene of “The Dynamic Dozen” graduation.  Julie Williams introduced speakers, Dr. Rizor, Ruanne Manual and Bree-Ani Velez, valedictorian Kirsten Davis, and architect Boone Morrison.  Music was performed by Ashli Neizmen, Kawehi and John Kanoho: and Xanthe Serafin, Peggy Heisman and Julie Williams presented awards, gifts, and leis made by Cyndi Ng.  Many parents and teachers provided lunch and assistance.  Kudos to teachers Ms. Quijano, Mr. Lawrence, Ms Morrison and the graduates, who planned the event and raised funds.  Thanks also go to the Cooper Center and the Volcano community for donations of flowers, food and funds.

Ho’olaulea:  A very successful, fun filled Friday afternoon with games of skill/chance, pie throwing, and a 3rd grade play.  Did you know Mr. Lawrence made those wooden clown faces?  Thank you, middle school B group, advisors, and Ms. Hiestand’s class for a well-organized fund raiser.

Wanted for next school year: Resource Coordinator, $10.97/hour, 19 hours/week.  Coordinate school volunteers, community resources, and field trips.  Seek and write grants.  Call Dr. Rizor, 985-9800.

Help needed: There are many facilities projects this summer and we could really use some volunteers.  Absolutely no one has called to help.  If you could spare some time to help us get the school together
this summer, please contact Ted or Dr. Rizor at the school.

Uku Team Alert: Some current members are moving on to other things, so we need help for next year or those pesky critters will spread, as only they can.  Help keep VSAS heads itch-free and meet all the students and teachers once every 2 or 3 weeks for 1 1/2 hours or so.  Call Theresa Lyon at 929-9716 or 938-9767 or Peggy at school 985-9800.

Friends & Families: The 4th of July parade is fast approaching.  If you’re interested in riding your bicycle or walking in the parade with the school, contact Jeff at 985-8687.

See you all next year.  Start-of-school packets will be ready for pickup in July.  I’ll be here most of the summer, but call before coming.  Thanks, Peggy

Inserts: No-school day calendar, supply lists for next year.
