Major work day: All parents are asked to come help clean up the campus on Friday, November 12, if possible. The day is a waiver day for students, but all teachers and even the Volcano Rotary Club will be helping. The main projects are removal of old steel and concrete in the forested areas; removal of tibuchina; replacing the pasture fence; and digging a trench for electrical service to the tents and the container. On hand will be a small bulldozer, a jackhammer, a chipper, a cutting torch and various implements of destruction. Needed are tools such as pickaxes and shovels, assorted chopping and cutting tools; pickup trucks -- anyone have a dumper? -- and bodies, lots of bodies. Plus food -- donations for lunch are very appreciated! (And for truck drivers, don't worry about driving long distances -- the debris will only be hauled a few miles to Dr. Hughes ranch, to be used as fill.) We'll be starting actual work at 9:00, gathering a bit earlier to assess crews and jobs.

These wooded areas are hazardous, and attempts at funding this cleanup through grants have failed. It's a huge job, but with all the equipment listed above and a large enough crew we can make it happen -- please make an effort to be there. RSVP appreciated

**Further Change in Schedule Grading day has been changed from November 24 to Nov. 15 as we said last week, so that grades will be done in time for the parent-teacher conferences on Nov. 16 – 19.  These will be ½ days – school lets out at 12:00 noon instead of 1:00 pm as noted before.  LUNCH WILL BE SERVED.

Photos:  The photographer will be back on Mon. Nov. 8 to take the pictures of the groups and any students or staff who were missed last time.

Halloween:  Friday, October 29, all students, all grades may participate in a Halloween Costume Parade after lunch, sponsored by the Middle School Students.  Ribbons and candies will be awarded to every child participant.

Correction: Student Council donator was Victoria Brooks, not Autumn.

Board meeting this week at 5:30, in the 7th-8th grade tent.

The Cooper Center Rock and Roll Project has openings for students. They meet after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and will consider other days if interest is shown. For more information call Rob Kennedy, 985-9151.
