Garage sale:  In third grade, there is an emphasis on how we fit into our community.  The third grade class is showing that they know it is important to give back to their community.  They are having a garage sale to raise money for the Pahala Pool.  Since we love our times learning to swim with Ms. Cassandra, we felt this would be a great way to give.  Also, many of our students come from the Ka’u area, so this is truly part of our community.  We asked Cassandra what she needs at the pool.  She said it would be great to have outside plastic lockers for our students to put their things in.  We are hoping to raise enough money to make a significant contribution to this purchase.
If you have items to donate, or would like to volunteer with this project, please contact Ms. Hiestand in the third grade classroom.  Also, if you would like to find some great deals, come to the sale, Friday, Feb. 10th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and Saturday, Feb. 11th, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Location: Ohia Estates (between Mile 25 & 26 on Hwy. 11)  Direction signs will be posted along Jade St. to the garage sale at Ms. Hiestand’s house on Ala Ohia.

Lost and Found Items: This week, all lost and found will be set outside of the MP room in the morning till Thursday.  On Friday, the left over will be donated to Ms. Hiestand’s Third grade Garage Sale, to fundraise for the Pahala Pool.

Orchids for sale:  At the MP room until Friday and then at the garage sale.  $5 -15 each, donated by Mike Odachi.  The Student Council is donating the money to the International Service Project and Valentine Activities.
