- Even though this ballet class is targeted to grades K-3, older
students
should feel free to participate. Ballet is a prerequisite for a future
in
dance, acrobatics or any movement arts. It also provides the
flexibility,
strength and balance required for most sports. If
you are interested in any of these classes but have not yet submitted a
registration form, please go ahead and complete the registration form
and we
will contact you if there are any issues. For questions contact

Circus Arts Survey Results Mahalo to all those who completed the
surveys
regarding incorporation of circus arts into the school’s physical
education
curriculum. Of the 44 responses from parents, teachers, and staff
39 said
“yes” they like the idea; while 5 said “no” they did not like the
idea.
Within the “yes” category, 21 respondents marked that they would like
to see
circus arts all year round, 9 said it was best only at the elementary
school
level, and 21 marked that they would like to see circus arts
incorporated as a
block along with other types of activities. (Note: In many cases,
respondents marked more than one box in the “yes” category.) We
received
a lot of great input on types of activities everyone would like to see
incorporated in the future. We were pleased to note that many of
the
activities mentioned have already been implemented, but we have a way
to go yet
to reach our goals.
Call for sports coaches. If you would like to help with
sports
instruction or coach a team, please contact Kalima at 985-8727 or kalimacay@yahoo.com.
