Just Desserts – This week, Wednesday, May 10th:  The fundraising for graduation will be a bake sale – cakes, brownies, bread pudding, gingerbread, cookies, etc.  We ask everyone to donate home-baked desserts which will be sold for 50 cents a slice all day in the Bubble.  Drop off Wednesday between 7:15 and 8:00 am at the bubble to Ms. Marie.  (Place cookies 3 or 4 to a bag).  The funds are for decorations and pizza.  Contact: Ms. Marie 985-7404.

What’s happening to the grounds near our driveway?  Middle-school students are clearing out the non-natives (ginger, bamboo, etc).  They are piling these cuttings into a 20’ berm/border alongside the Old Volcano Road to block the road.  They will plant fast-growing Koa trees inside the berm to further mitigate the road.  They will replant the interior with natives (naupaka, kupukupu, hapuu, etc.  They will add more pathways and “island” planting areas.  They will add benches and stools.  The kindergarteners want to turn this area into a “friendship” garden.  Some students want to make ceramic sculpture for it.  Mrs. Morrison wants to make a fishpond in the low spot.  Any  more ideas?  Leave a note for Mrs. Morrison.  Want to help?  Leave your name and number for Mrs. Morrison.
